Symmetric Categories as a Means of Virtualization for Braid Groups and Racks

چکیده
In this paper we propose, firstly, a categorification of virtual braid groups and groupoids in terms of “locally” braided objects in a symmetric category (SC), and, secondly, a definition of self-distributive structures (SDS) in an arbitrary SC. SDS are shown to produce braided objects in a SC. As for examples, we interpret associativity and the Jacobi identity in a SC as generalized selfdistributivity, thus endowing associative and Leibniz algebras with a “local” braiding. Our “double braiding” approach provides a natural interpretation for virtual racks and twisted Burau representation. Homology of categorical SDS is defined via weakly simplicial objects, generalizing rack, bar and Leibniz differentials. Free virtual SDS and the faithfulness of corresponding representations of virtual braid groups/groupoids are also discussed.

Solutions of the Yang-baxter Equations from Braided-lie Algebras and Braided Groups
We obtain an R-matrix or matrix representation of the Artin braid group acting in a canonical way on the vector space of every (super)-Lie algebra or braided-Lie algebra. The same result applies for every (super)-Hopf algebra or braided-Hopf algebra. We recover some known representations such as those associated to racks. We also obtain new representations such as a non-trivial one on the ring ...
متن کاملHomological Stability for Automorphism Groups
We prove a general homological stability theorem for families of automorphism groups in certain categories. We show that this theorem can be applied to all the classical examples of stable families of groups, such as the symmetric groups, general linear groups and mapping class groups, and obtain new stability theorems with twisted coefficients for the braid groups, automorphisms of free groups...
متن کاملIrreducibility of the tensor product of Albeverio's representations of the Braid groups $B_3$ and $B_4$
We consider Albeverio's linear representations of the braid groups $B_3$ and $B_4$. We specialize the indeterminates used in defining these representations to non zero complex numbers. We then consider the tensor products of the representations of $B_3$ and the tensor products of those of $B_4$. We then determine necessary and sufficient conditions that guarantee the irreducibility of th...
متن کاملA special class of tensor categories initiated by inverse braid monoids
In this paper, we introduce the concept of a wide tensor category which is a special class of a tensor category initiated by the inverse braid monoids recently investigated by Easdown and Lavers [The Inverse BraidMonoid,Adv. inMath. 186 (2004) 438–455]. The inverse braid monoids IBn is an inverse monoid which behaves as the symmetric inverse semigroup so that the braid group Bn can be regarded ...

It is shown that all the assumptions for symmetric monoidal categories flow out of a unifying principle involving natural isomorphisms of the type (A ∧B) ∧ (C ∧D) → (A ∧ C) ∧ (B ∧D), called medial commutativity. Medial commutativity in the presence of the unit object enables us to define associativity and commutativity natural isomorphisms. In particular, Mac Lane’s pentagonal and hexagonal coh...
